Maruti Suzuki to Launch 3 New Sedans and Compact SUV
Maruti Suzuki is India largest car manufacturer.All through the years Maruti is more focused on small hatch backs.And they have got good volumes in all the hatch segment.Maruti has entered Luxury segment also but didn’t get any success at all.Currently Kizashi,Gran Vitara are the two most expensive models from Maruti.Now Maruti have announced that they will never compete in the Luxury segment neither Maruti or Suzuki.In India Small cars always outsells any other cars.So they will focus more on Small cars and other segments.
Now in India most of the customers upgrade from one class to another like the other international markets.Percentage of such customers have increased a lot.Now Maruti is developing 3 new sedan for India.Next generation SX4 is bigger and wider than the current one.So with is model Maruti will enter the entry level D segment.This model will compete against Toyota Corolla,Chevrolet Cruze and Renault Fluence.
The second sedan will be a new sedan which will be placed between SX4 and swift Dzire.This sedan will be based on the extended swift platform.Most of underpinnings will be shared between Swift.So Maruti can save lot of money in it.Then the third sedan will be compact sedan which is a Sub 4 meter car.This will be based on the A-star.Basically an A-star with some modifications attached with a boot on it.Like This will make the Maruti range a bigger one.
There is a small compact SUV coming from Maruti based on the XA-Alpha platform.Maruti is also working on a Cross over based on the next generation SX4.Maruti is also developing new compact Diesel engine for the entry level hatch backs.Also there will be more powerful Fiat sourced diesel engines will debut in Maruti Cars.New sedan will be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo and also later they will be Launched.
