The McLaren F1

A car so great, the McLaren F1 had held the title of the fastest car in the world for 11 straight years! And thats the longest period a car has held on to that title. So one can have no doubt that its got heck a lot of ability in it.

But what really is impressive is its design. The sleek and light bodywork and chassis coupled with a 618 bhp thundering engine, yeah, you get the figure. And thats way back in 1990! To be replaced by the McLaren P1, it successor has a lot to live up to.

Performance

The F1 remains as of 2011 one of the fastest production cars ever made; as of July 2010 it is succeeded by very few cars including theKoenigsegg CCR, the Bugatti Veyron, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. However, all of the superior top speed machines use forced induction to reach their respective top speeds – making the McLaren F1 the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world.
